When you are browsing through these images on instagram, just remember that real life is in your heart & mind. Your smile. Your loved ones. Your surroundings. Pictures online can trick you into believing you are not enough. Like you need to do something more...be more exciting, be more physically attractive, just more. It is a lie. A net of fleeting fantasy. You are real. You are beautiful. You are enough. Go be in the world and stop comparing yourself to the world of selfie
*Not Enough* - a toxic belief that can easily affect multiple dimensions of our lives in the most negative (and subconscious) ways. In the field of mental health, new studies are emerging pointing to a correlation between social media use and depressive symptoms, anxiety, and low self-esteem. Between the never-ending barrage of tragic news, celebrity BS and the impressive effort many people make to get you to believe they live or look a certain way...it isn't hard to believe. Most of us have these phones on us all day long. How often are you checking or browsing one of your apps? - don't lie! Lol...As with anything, balance is key. Personally, I love Instagram and I have so much fun taking yoga pictures at home and interacting . But I also believe that it's very important, especially in this day and age, to be mindful of the way we engage in social media. It affects us significantly. Just food for thought! Happy browsing everyone!
